From the very beginning when you start to swim laps, there are a variety of benefits that include; improved stamina, better respiratory, weight loss and an overall general healthy and wellness feeling. Swimming laps is a fitness exercise that provides the maximum benefit with the least amount of trauma to the body in the form of hard impact. By swimming laps, either leisurely or paced, you can exert your body to the level that is both comfortable and appropriate for your weight, your age and your ability. Leisurely laps are especially good for those who need to start off slowly. By augmenting laps with floats and other swimming aides, even beginning swimmers can begin making progress at very little risk of injury. One of the nice features of an EZ Pool SwimMill is it does not require any adjustments to change swimming speeds.
For example; you start off your lap-swimming routine with a simple warm-up swimming stroke. Then, as you begin to feel relaxed and limber, you speed up to more aggressive butterfly-style or more rigerous kicking and faster strokes. Then, in mid-stroke, you flip yourself over to do a workout on other parts of your muscles by doing back-strokes. Finally you finish off your routine with a cooling-down swim mode of simple breast-strokes. In this way, a SwimMill is the most like regular lap swimming in that you do not have to stop and adjust anything to vary your swimming speed and/or stroke.

The SwimMill is like any other type of fitness equipment in that it is designed to be a part of an overall wellness plan. For many of our customers, the purchasing of an EZ Pool with a SwimMill is not just a benefit for fitness - but provides the very best cooling down relaxation possible.
Maybe you are a runner, training on a regular basis, and want to find an activity that keeps your heart rate up but takes some of the impact stress off of your body. Perhaps you have been doing some other form of land exercise, and now an injury prevents you from putting weight on a knee or ankle. Swimming laps with our SwimMill can actually help you with all of this. Kicking workouts or a lap swimming workout can all give you a great exercise session without the weight of your body pounding you with each move.

| Regular swimming builds endurance, muscle strength and cardio-vascular fitness. It can serve as a cross-training element to your regular workouts. As an example; before a land workout, you can use the pool for a warm-up session. Swimming with increasing effort to gradually increase your heart rate and stimulate your muscle activity is easily accomplished in the water. As well, swimming a few laps after a land workout can help you cool-down, move blood through your muscles to help them recover, and help you relax as you glide through the water. |
