|Dear Really EZ Pool Customer,
We hope you have enjoyed your EZ pool this summer. Did you know that you could drain, dis-assemble and store your pool for the winter? Unlike conventional above-ground pools,a portable pool from Really EZ Pools can be drained and stored without any shrinking or dry-out of the liner. Just be sure to store the liner and pool parts in a shed or garage so as to prevent freezing temperatures. If a pool liner freezes in a folded up position, this can impact the liner.
HOW DO I WINTERIZE MY EZ POOL?
Unlike traditional above-groun pools, a portable pool from Really EZ Pools does not need to be drained partially for winterization. However it is very important to remove the ladder, the pump, the filter, the hoses, and the optional floating skimmer from the pool. Be sure the gate valves are closed. This will prevent the water from flowing out when you detach the hoses. A PoolGard® Pool Cover is ideal for winterizing your EZ pool as it is weather-treated to withstand freezing temperatures
CAN I STORE THE ACCESSORIES OUTSIDE IN THE SNOW?
Most of the pool accessories (such as your pump/filter, ladder, skimmer, solar cover, etc) are made of plastic components. If left outside, these components can become brittle and eventually break. Though they are replaceable, this type of damaged is not covered under warranty.
DO I NEED TO PUT ANY WINTERIZING CHEMICALS IN THE POOL?
Most winterizing chemicals are designed for the much more fragile and non-reinforced vinyl-liners for traditional above-ground pools. These weaker liners will become brittle in the freezing cold, so they add conditioners to the water to reduce this. Winterizing chemicals are not necessary in a portable pool - but you may need to re-shock the water next spring.
WHAT'S THE WORSE THING THAT CAN HAPPEN TO A FROZEN POOL?
The worse thing that we at Really EZ Pools have ever seen, when a customer winterizes a portable pool, is the gate valves get knocked, damaged or break off. This causes the water to drain out. Customers are unaware of this drainage and a strong gust of wind comes and lifts up the pool. We at Really EZ Pools know this and as such have placed the plumbing openings on the pool liner so as to make sure at least half the water remains in the pool if this happens. Thus preventing a wind storm from liftig up the pool.
We have sold pools through out the country, including Canada. Each customer can have a very different experience with the winter elements. We would like to hear from you. Chances are if something happened to you, it may happen to other custoemrs as well..
Thank you for the oppotunity and let us know if we can help "re-start" your pool next year.

TIPS ON STORING A LINER
If you put away a liner wet, mold and mildew may form. Though this rarely has any structural impact on the liner, it can discolor the pigment. To prevent this, be sure your liner is dry and add some baking soda in the liner to obsorb some of the moisture.
BEWARE OF RODENTS
For some reason small rodents love the smell of an EZ Pool. Though there is no way for a rodent to damage an EZ pool liner when it is up and filled with water. But when it is drained and folded, they can gnaw on the vinyl. Store your liner in a lifted area that will prevent rodent access.
CAN I TURN MY EZ POOL INTO AN ICE SKATING RINK?
Umm...sure if you want to. Just take care to prevent the tips of ice skates from puncturing the liner. These can be repaired, and if repaired properly have no impact on the structural integrity of the pool.
